Picture Gallery Two - Tanzania - Chome Village
As we made that last turn a lush green valley suddenly opens up. A little further on the truck is surrounded by the wild cheering and singing of all 4000 villagers. The excitement, love and joy on their faces are always overwhelming to me. View this gallery with no Forms

PICTURE 3-1
Two schoolboys stop to tell me about their lessons. The children of Chome have a wonderful curiosity for learning.

PICTURE 3-2
The water source above the valley is more than 9 miles roundtrip up rugged terrain.

PICTURE 3-3
The valley floor is served by muddy irrigation and planted in Maize for everyone to share. You can hear people singing across the valley as they work.

PICTURE 3-4
Notice the view in the distance and the small terraced gardens below. There is a tribe of monkeys that can occasionally be seen in the forest.

PICTURE 3-5
Children make their own drums. This means cutting the tree and skinning the animal.

PICTURE 3-6
There is only one rugged road to the village. To the left and below is the valley floor.

PICTURE 3-7
They hunt with bow and arrow for small game.

PICTURE 3-8
They celebrate their natural joy often with traditional dance and drumming.

PICTURE 3-9
Notice the smiles and the flowers. There is also freshly hewn lumber for a new house. They did not go to Home Depot.
